Last week’s “planet” is published below in its undistorted state. It is the skyline of Hong Kong at night. It is probably one of the best known iconic views of Hong Kong even though it lacks an instantly recognisable landmark. Both @Airwaysfoodie on Twitter and Sasha Heseltine in the comments got the answer correct. Well done to both. This weeks “planet” is a view of well known landmark. Can you guess which city it is? Put your answer in the comments below or on my Twitter stream @lethers with the hashtag #WITW10 (don’t forget the hashtag)

Last weeks “planet” is published below in its undistorted shape. This one was a good deal easier than last week’s twisted photograph. It is the Houses of Parliament in Britain. The city is therefore London. Well done to all those who guessed correctly. This weeks planet is published below. Although there are no instantly recognisable landmarks this night time waterfront scene is an iconic view of this vibrant happening city. Can you guess “Where in the World…” this city is? Write the name of the city in the comments section below or if you prefer head over to my Twitter feed (@lethers) and leave your answer there with the hashtag #WITW9. Good luck.

Last weeks “planet” proved difficult. It’s shown below in its undistorted state. As mentioned in the clue the harbour is a great place for a party; it is best known for its Tea Party. The city is Boston, USA There were no correct guesses this week. This week’s “planet” I hope will be considerably easier to guess as it is an iconic scene from a well known city. Do you know where in the world it is? Leave your guess in the comments section below or on my Twitter feed (@lethers) with the hashtag #WITW8. The answer will be posted next week along with another “planet”. Good luck. Last weeks “planet” is shown below in its undistorted state. Once the two towers are identified as the Petronas Towers it is fairly easy to identify the city as Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. It is a shopaholics paradise and is justly famous for its night markets which I shall be writing about in another post in the not too distant future. Only one person guessed correctly though generally the guesses centred round the Far East. This weeks winner was Adrian Driscoll (@caxtonia) who submitted his answer via Twitter. Well done Adrian. This weeks “planet” is a little more difficult. It’s another waterfront city and is a view (in its undistorted state) you might see coming from the city’s airport. Where do you think it is? Leave your guess in the comments below or on my Twitter feed (@lethers)…

Last weeks “planet” is published below in its undistorted state. It’s easily recognisable as the Ponte Vecchio so the answer to this week’s “Where in the World…?” is Florence. This week we have a new winner. Kathryn Burrington’s guess on Twitter (@TravelWithKat) was the correct guess. Well done. It proved a lot more difficult than previous weeks. This week’s Where in the World “planet” should be a lot easier as there are a couple of landmarks as clues. Where do you think it is? Leave your guess in the comments below or on my Twitter feed (@lethers) with the hashtag #WITW6. The answer will be posted next week along with another “planet”. Good luck.

Last weeks “planet” is published below in its undistorted state. It’s easily recognisable as the Toronto skyline with the CN Tower to the left of the photograph. For the second week running Sonja Holverson’s guess on Twitter (@SonjaSwissLife) was the correct guess. Well done Sonja. This week’s Where in the World “planet is slightly more challenging as it is less a skyline picture and more an iconic view of a part of the city. Undistorted it is easily identifiable but distorted… Where do you think it is? Leave your guess in the comments below or on my Twitter feed (@lethers) with the hashtag #WITW. The answer will be posted next week along with another “planet”. Good luck.

Last weeks “planet” is pictured below undistorted. It is of course Sydney. The opera house, even in its distorted form is the giveaway. Sonja Holverson’s guess on Twitter (@SonjaSwissLife) was the only correct guess received. Well done. This weeks “planet” is below. It’s another fairly easily recognisable skyline when not distorted. If you know Where in the World this “planet” is then leave your answer in the comments section below or on my Twitter feed (@lethers) with the hashtag #WITW. Another “planet” will be posted next week along with the answer for this week. Good luck.

Last week’s “planet” photo seemed to present no problem. Undistorted it looks like the photograph below. It is of course Auckland, New Zealand. Congratulations to Jon Sparks who guessed correctly. I did think that because of the TV tower that some readers might think it was Toronto. This week’s “planet” photo is, in its undistorted state, another classic view of a city. If you know where in the World this “planet” is then leave your answer in the comments section below. Another “planet” will be posted next week along with the answer for this week. Good luck.

I recently posted two “planets” (distorted skylines) and asked “Where in the World…” they were. One was a cityscape other a landscape characteristic of a particular nation. You can see the post here. This week I have posted another “planet” and asked “Where in the World…?” Straightened out this scene, photographed across a body of water, is the classic view of the city. Do you know which city it is? Answers in the comments section below. I’ll reveal ‘Where in the World” it is in a week. Good luck.

So that’s where it is.

So that’s where it is.

So that’s where in the world it is. Last week I posted two photographs – planets I called them – and asked “Where in the World…?” I like to challenge so it wasn’t easy. Indeed no one came up with the correct answer. Here are the two photographs again                There were a couple of clues; the red houses in the first photograph and the waterfront (albeit distorted) in the second. OK, loads of cities sit on the coast or lakes but at least it eliminates cities like Mexico City. I did mention in the previous post that it was in the southern hemisphere. At the top of this post is the undistorted view of the first shot – the kayakers are paddling among the islands of the Sankt Anna archipelago south of Stockholm….
