Answer to edition 408

The biggest clue is the blue coloured cathedral/church with the gold leaf domes. These are often seen in the eastern Baltic region and inland from there. The one pictured is the Cathedral of the Assumption. The city is Smolensk in Russia.

The distorted image this week is of a city skyline. It is similar to many other modern city skylines but there is a clue hidden in there that will help identify the city. Some research on Google may be needed.
