Where in the World (308)

The period houses in the foreground were intended to be the main clue to identify the distorted city. Known as the Painted Ladies they were, however, not the main identifier that readers used. That was reserved for the distinctive Trans America building on the distant skyline. Whichever clue was used to identify the city the answer would be the same. Both the Trans America building and the Painted Ladies are found in San Francisco.

Congratulations to Davide (@travelling_dave), Jackie (@JackiesJourneys) and Tim (@timofnewbury) and who all identified the city as San Francisco.

This week the original photograph has been altered in Photoshop to give the impression of a fictional city somewhere in the universe. Mostly it was the sky and lighting that were altered. However, the city is not fictional but exists somewhere on this planet – can you identify the city (distorted of course) that is standing in as Alpha-Gemini-9T7Y?

As usual, you can leave your answers in the comments below or on my Twitter feed (@lethers) with the hashtag #WITW308. If you are on Twitter then you can Direct Message me with the answer which will be hidden from other readers. Alternatively, email me with the answer here.

Please use the hashtag #WITW308. It makes finding the answers in a continually changing Twitter feed so much easier; your answer is less likely to be overlooked.
