Where in the World (287)

There were a few different suggestions for the distorted city in Where in the World (286), however, no one was led astray by the red herring in the photograph. The Asian style building could have led some to stray towards the Far East in their thinking. In fact, at least one reader used it as a clue to identify the city. The Sea Palace is a well-known floating restaurant and along with the style of the houses and the distinctive, 800-year-old Oude Kirk on the skyline identifies the city as Amsterdam.

Amsterdam

Thank you for all those who took part. Congratulations this week to Jackie (@JackiesJourneys), Tim (@timofnewbury), Atul (@pixodentist), and Davide (@travelling_dave) who all identified the city correctly as Amsterdam.

In this week’s “Where in the World…” the distorted photograph is a much-visited tourist attraction. Like the Taj Mahal two weeks ago it is not the identity of the building featured that is required but the city where it is found.
