I am excited to have been shortlisted for the DFDS Seaways 2015 Travel Blogger of the Year Award. There are several categories – Travel, Food and Drink, Culture and History, Newcomer and Travel Photos. I have been nominated in the Travel Blogger Category.
The shortlisted candidates in each of the five categories are listed on the DFDS Seaways website for the public to vote on.
DFDS Seaways are a leading ferry company operating routes from Dover and Newhaven to Dunkirk, Calais and Dieppe in France and from Newcastle to Amsterdam. Details of their sailings can be found on their website www.dfdsseaways.co.uk.
It was my post on Where to see the Northern Lights that grabbed the attention of the team at DFDS and brought Travel Unpacked to their attention. I was nominated and shortlisted and now it is down to my readers to vote for me.
If you enjoy my blog I would appreciate a vote. You can cast your vote here. I am listed under my name, Gordon Lethbridge, and not the name of the site. You can locate me at the far right of Best Travel Bloggers (see the photograph below). Voting closes on 24th April 2015 and as soon as I know the results I will inform you all on this website.
There are some great bloggers in the other categories too (who I am not competing against) that you should explore. Two that stand out for me are Zoe Dawes in the Best Culture and History Blogger category – I love reading her blog The Quirky Traveller – and Julie Falconer in the Best Travel Photo Blogger category who blogs as A Lady in London.
