The golden domes, red walls and long white building all contributed to the identification of last week’s city. The reflection in the centre of the “planet” may well have helped too as it indicates a body of water, most likely a river, which helpfully gives another perspective on the city. It is in fact the Moskva River and the city is Moscow. It is the second time it has appeared in “Where in the World…”
Four people correctly identified the city as the Russian capital, Moscow. Congratulations to the winners; Michael (@localizedmovie), Atul (@pixodentist), Richard (@RField75) and Tim (@timofnewbury). Well done and thank you for taking part.
This weeks “planet” is pictured below. This one is not so easy as it looks and might be a bit misleading as it is not the most obvious city. It is a photograph of an iconic landmark building of the city rather than a cityscape.
Can you identify the city? You can leave your answer below or on my Twitter feed (@lethers) with the hashtag #WITW42. If we mutually follow each other on Twitter then you could send me a direct message with your answer, not forgetting the hashtag #WITW43. You can also leave your answer under the post referring to this on the Travel Unpacked Facebook page (please like the page while you are there). Good luck.
Please note: I am currently in Australia’s Northern Territories and will be spending some time in the Outback where I will not always be able to connect to the Internet. I will endeavour to post at around 10:00pm [BST] on Wednesday as usual but this may not be possible. This post has been pre-scheduled in which case some last minute winners may not be mentioned. If this is the case I will mention them in the following weeks post.
