Identifying last week’s distorted city was quite a challenge. My policy is to only provide an additional clue IF no one has come up with the correct answer by lunchtime on Tuesday preceding the Wednesday when the answer is revealed. This has only happened three times previously so is an indication as to how difficult it was. There were answers before Tuesday lunchtime but they incorrectly identified both the building and the city.
I suggested in the clue, released on Twitter, that you head for the Nordic countries. There were several suggestions as to the identity of the building; not all of them correct. However, despite this, the city was identified correctly in most cases. The building featured is the Finlandia Hall designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. As it is the city that has to be identified and not the building those who said Helsinki were correct despite misidentifying the building.
Congratulations to Todd (@toddunctious), Tim (@timofnewbury) and Bev (@bevsackville) who all identified the city correctly… eventually.
This week’s “Where in the World…” is a city skyline with a prominent building in the foreground. As in many of these puzzles identifying the building will help in identifying the city. Less challenging than last week so good luck with this one.
