Last week identifying the city proved quite a challenge for some. Identifying the structure was key to the identification of the city. It certainly helped in identifying what part of the World with most people opting for Central Asia or the Middle East.
The structure is a large representation of a frankincense burner and dominates the city’s skyline with its backdrop of mountains. Since the time of King Solomon frankincense has been produced in Oman and is used and exported even today. This incense burner overlooks the capital of Oman, Muscat.
Congratulations to Anita (@Ani_Rav), Jackie (@JackieJourneys) and Beverley (@BevSackville) who all identified the city correctly.
This week the city skyline is a lot less challenging and is one that is often seen in guidebooks, on postcards and in travel brochures. However, even though it is often seen, it is not the most iconic view of the city.
